In today's world, people are more aware than ever of the importance of being sustainable. Without change, there won't be a livable planet for future generations. We want to be part of that change, which is why sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

Deadstock fabric

For our women's collection we are using deadstock fabrics. These are fabrics that are left over from other designers and companies. Instead of letting this go to landfill we buy some of the fabrics and use it for our own collection.

By using deadstock, we give these high-quality fabrics a second life, reducing textile waste and minimizing the environmental impact of new fabric production. This also helps lower water and energy consumption while promoting a more circular and responsible fashion industry.

Amni Soul Eco®

Our swim shorts feature Amni Soul Eco® yarn, an innovative polyamide yarn with enhanced biodegradability. This means the yarn biodegrades in 3-5 years in controlled landfills, while other synthetic yarns can take decades to break down.

All swim shorts are made with synthetic yarn and they all release microplastics during the first washes, but with the enhanced biodegradability they will biodegrade 20 times faster than normal polyamide yarn.

By using this yarn we are actively working on minimizing our textile waste footprint.

    Portugal

Production for our swim shorts is done in Portugal. Having our production in Portugal means we keep CO2 emissions low from transportation. Besides that, companies in Europe have to comply with environmental and ethical regulations, ensuring workers are paid fair wages and work normal hours in safe environments.

    Our Supply Chain
  • In-house

Our women's wear collection is handmade by me in Amsterdam, in our spare bedroom-turned-studio. We follow a made-to-order approach, crafting each piece only after an order is placed. This process helps reduce overproduction and textile waste.

  • Packaging

To send the swimwear to you, we use boxes made of recycled paper. No trees have to be cut down for this. Plus, we seal the boxes with paper tape so you don't have to deal with separating tape and cardboard :)

Our goals

we aim to make our swimwear as sustainable as possible and we are constantly exploring new materials and practices to reduce our environmental footprint. Our company is only just getting started, but we have made some great steps already and we will continue to improve!

Some things we are still working on:

  • Finding a sustainable option for the yarn and elastic used on our women's wear collection.
  • We are looking into an alternative material for our logo label on our swim shorts, which is the only item in the shorts that is currently not made from a sustainable yarn but from virgin polyester.
  • We are looking for a mesh lining that is also 100% biodegradable for our swim shorts. We are keeping an eye on new technologies and developments.

Greenspark

For every order we receive we donate to Plastic Bank® and Ripple Africa. We are able to do this with the help of Greenspark. Every order results in the removal of 5 plastic bottles from the ocean and offsets 5 kg of carbon. Below you will see the impact that we have made so far:
